What is the best duty holster in the Pegasus Kydex line?
It depends on what you need the holster to do. The Facilitator is the slim option, built from rigid .125 Kydex sheet and glass-reinforced nylon with the Redi-Lok trigger locking device, and it wears strong side or cross draw. The Duty Raptor is the choice when you want a rotating hood and Level II security, and the light-bearing version handles a weapon light. Both fully cover the trigger guard.
What retention level do these duty holsters offer?
The Duty Raptor provides Level II security through a rotating hood combined with an adjustable tensioning device. The Facilitator uses the Redi-Lok, a trigger locking device that is snatch-resistant and positioned out of an adversary's view. Retention holsters in this line are marked with their level, so check the model you are considering before you order. If your agency permits a standard holster without a hood, the Facilitator covers that requirement while keeping a locking device.
Will a light-bearing duty holster fit my pistol without the light attached?
Yes on the Duty Raptor light-bearing model. It secures the pistol with or without the light mounted, which means one holster covers your patrol configuration and your range use setup. It fits a Streamlight TLR, Surefire X300, Inforce APL, and other lights of similar size.
Can I adjust the retention on these holsters?
Most models include an adjustable retention screw or tensioning device that sets how much resistance the draw requires. Adjustable retention lets you tune the holster to your training and your firearm rather than living with one setting. Instructions ship with the holster.
Are these holsters available for left-hand draw?
Most DeSantis duty holsters are offered in right-hand and left-hand versions.
