A Mexican loop holster is cut from a single piece of leather, with the holster pouch threaded through loops formed in the backing skirt rather than sewn to a separate belt loop. It is the pattern that defined the Old West, and our Desperado follows it with full suede lining, a hammer thong, and border stamping.
What is the difference between cross draw and strong side carry?
Strong side puts the holster on your dominant hip for a straight draw. Cross draw sets it on the weak side, angled for the dominant hand to reach across, which is easier when seated, on horseback, or at a card table. The Doc Holliday comes in both, and the Wild Hog is ambidextrous.
Which holster fits my revolver?

How many cartridge loops come on your gun belts?
The Desperado Gun Belt ships with 20 loops in .45LC or 25 loops in .38/.357, sized to the caliber you order. The Butch Cassidy belt carries 36 loops across a 2 3/4 inch straight cut band. Both are built from heavy saddle leather and take a matching western holster.
Are these holsters suitable for cowboy action shooting?
Yes. The Desperado in particular was cut with cowboy action in mind, and the traditional patterns here suit the sport's equipment expectations. Check your club's rules on retention straps and rig configuration, since requirements vary by category.
How do I care for premium saddle leather?
Keep it dry, let it air out after wear, and treat it with a quality leather conditioner once or twice a year to keep the fibers supple. Avoid storing a holster with the firearm inside for long stretches, which can stretch the leather past its molded shape.
