What's the difference between a horizontal shoulder rig and a vertical shoulder holster?
A horizontal shoulder holster positions your handgun parallel to the ground under your arm, allowing for a quick draw motion that sweeps forward. A vertical shoulder holster carries your pistol with the muzzle pointed down, which some shooters find more comfortable for all-day wear. Both carry styles work well under a jacket; it comes down to personal preference and how you train.
Are DeSantis shoulder holsters good for larger handguns?
Yes. Shoulder carry is one of the best options for heavier firearms and full size semi-automatic pistols. The shoulder harness distributes weight across both shoulders rather than concentrating it at your waistband, making it more comfortable than a waistband holster for larger guns.

Can I use a shoulder holster for open carry?
While shoulder rigs are primarily designed for concealed carry under a jacket or coat, they can technically be worn for open carry depending on your state's laws.
